November Luncheon

The Chamber met at Scooter’s Pub and Eatery in Clinton for their monthly luncheon on November 12

 Jon Beardsley from Spyglass Investments was the guest speaker.  Beardsley presented information about the Indiana College Choice 529 Savings Plan.  He discussed how this can be affordable way for Parents and to save money for their child’s college fund. There is a range of investment options that you are able to choose from. Beardsley also talked about the Special tax credit for Indiana residents; Indiana taxpayers are eligible for a state income tax credit of 20% of the contributions to the College Choice529 up to $1000.00.  This plan is Tax free as long as the money is used for Educational purposes only. If funds are withdrawn for non-educational purposes there is a penalty; plus federal and state income tax on the growth. However you are able to switch the beneficiary, they must be in your family.

 

 

October Luncheon

Clinton Chamber met at Terra Villa in Clinton for their monthly luncheon on October 8, 2013. 

Rod Dowell, Account Executive for Ivy Tech Corporate College, was the guest speaker.  He spoke  about the different areas of training they provide services for; such as soft skills, supervisor training, computer training, leadership from the heart, they also cover a wide variety of technical and industrial certifications including welding, powered industrial truck , OSHA 10 and 30, and environmental health and safety just to name a few. September Luncheon

jjThe Clinton Chamber met at McDonald’s in Clinton for their monthly luncheon on September 10, 2013.  Deb Salmon and Lani Lorey from the US Postal Service were the guest speakers.  They presented information about a new service that the Postal service is offering; The Every Door Direct Mail this is a way of advertising for businesses or events.
